In the impossibly perfect line-up of living mannequins, there is one peroxide pixie breaking the mould.
While she has all the physical qualities that fit the usual model description – sky high legs, perfect proportions, and doll-like face – it's her cheeky, flirty attitude with a dash of rock'n'roll that has made the 20-year-old a constant fixture in the pages of glossy magazines including Harpers Bazaar and the cover of their Australian Style coffee table book, Grazia and indie rag, Russh.
The Brisbane beauty isn't a stranger to the runway either, walking in the David Jones seasonal collections launch shows, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and the highlight of her career was strutting it for Chanel Haute Couture in 2008 at just 17.
The Aussie hottie of Vivien's Model Management is currently on location in Los Angeles, and she took five to chat about her latest shoot with Melbourne label, Friend of Mine, crazy New York Fashion Week and her love of Mexican food.
You recently shot the current collection from Melbourne label, Friend of Mine titled The Crusaders - it seemed like a lot of fun on set, playing around with the clothing - is this how it always is for you?
I find that different shoots will have different atmospheres but no matter what i always try to make the best of it. It does help when you have a wicked crew like we did on the Crusaders Shoot. We all fed off of each others energy and what you see is the result. It takes more than one person for it too all come together.
The campaign title `Crusader' seems like it would sit well with you personally, do you feel a bit like a crusader sometimes in the modelling industry?
As much as you try to stay true to yourself in this industry, there will always be new challenges that you have to face and overcome.
I am really lucky to have a great support group around me, my family and friends in brisbane as well as my agents around the world.
I think no matter what, I will always have my quirky personality and thats something that benefits me in the industry.
You seemed very comfortable in the styling, is the range reminiscent of your own personal style? describe your style?
The clothes on set were crazy.
Not only the cuts but the fabrics and the colours.
What I really love about this collection is that it's very Australian outback/ fashion.
A salute to our Australian heritage but still stylish.
As for my own style, it changes from day to day.
One day I will wear all black, the next all colour.
I think style isn't something you can teach, it's just who you are...but in clothes.
Models are becoming more famous off set now for their street or model off duty style, what do you think of this new trend?
I think it's great.
Alot of models have fantastic style but just never get to show it off because we are always wearing someone else's version.
The international shows are about to take place kicking off in New York , do you have many of your friends over there now taking part in castings etc? from speaking with them, what's the mood like right now?
The shows are always a crazy time, no matter where in the world you are.
I can only imagine how many castings they are doing a day, how little sleep they are getting each night and I can bet that they are all wishing it was over.
Fashion weeks are always alot of fun, but just a lot of hard work not only in the actual show week, but for many weeks before it.
You ventured to the big apple yourself a few years ago with bestie and fellow model Avril Alexander, will you ever return?
A few years ago, Me and Av were in Paris .
We Ventured to New York last year.
I think that once you have been to NY its hard to stay away.
Not only for the amazing amount of work and opportiunties, but also the atmosphere there is amazing. Always going, always something to do.
I'm looking forward to being back there soon.
You are currently in LA, can you spill what this is for?
I am signed to Ford models here, but I originally came here for personal reasons.
How does LA suit you?
I haven't really seen much of it, I live in Laguna beach but for what I've seen I love it.
The weather is amazing, the people are really cool, it's just the traffic I don't like.
What is your favourite American style food?
Ummm, being in L.A there is alot of mexian food and I've gotta say, I love it.
But that's only as a treat.
Where do you love to shop?
Thrift stores mostly, I just love the one off stuff you can find.
But if I see something I like, I'll get it, no matter what shop it is.
What is next for you?
Who knows. Something good hopefully, haha.
